Why bilingual policy knowledge still matters in the Mediterranean
Arabic and English are not decorative options in the Forum’s work; they are the condition for knowledge to reach two publics that read policy from different places.
When policy is written in one language, the conversation shrinks to one circle of readers. In the Mediterranean, evidence moves between ministries, universities, organisations, and communities that work in Arabic or English — and often both in the same day.
Late translation is not neutrality. It is a decision about who is allowed to read in time.
That is why the Forum aims to publish core material in both languages where editorial capacity exists, and to treat Arabic as a research language rather than a later summary.
